Gabby Flores Camarena Metaphor for Blanco v. Repo v. Anejo Tequila

Gabby Flores Camarena Metaphor for Blanco v. Repo v. Anejo Tequila

Hey, we're here today at La Alteña with Gaby Flores Camarena, and one of the things that you shared with us today was a metaphor between the Blancos versus the other expressions. Could you maybe share that here?   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jay Baer (@tequilajaybaer) I was telling you that the Blanco is like having a portrait of the process and the agave. Because if you have a really well-trained palette, when you try a tequila blanco, you can identify how it was made, how mature this agave was. I'm not at that point yet, but that's something that I'm aspiring to. That's okay! That's me, too. We're getting there. Yeah. But at the end, this is the final product of my process on the agave. This is my art, my portrait. But this is a work of art. So I decide that it's not worth to have that photo just hiding on my phone and show it to certain people sometimes. I want to expose that photo. So what I'm going to do is to hang it on the wall of my living room. What I need to do is to enlarge that photo, add a little frame, and hang it on the wall. And that will be the reposado. It's the same photo, the same base of what I have from the beginning, but I add that little frame, that will be the wood from the barrel. And that is going to help us to have a little more intensity. It's going to enhance what I already had. So a little more appreciation maybe. Yeah, you can appreciate it more. It's not going to hide what you already had and just compliment it. Yes. The main character is always the agave. If we are talking about the añejos and the extra añejos, maybe I'm talking about something, some photo that I perceived as really a work of art. Yes. It's not worth to have it only hanging on the wall of my living room so what I'm going to do is to take that photo into a museum. Yes. But that little frame is not enough in there. What I need is a frame of more intense wood. Yeah, a larger frame. Yes! Maybe some carved wood or some fine wood, something that is going to catch more the eye, but still is not going to be more intense than what I already had on my glass, my tequila blanco or my agave. It's something that is going to help us appreciate it more. Yeah. And that was the best metaphor, we all loved it today, and thank you so much for having us. Oh, thank you for being here. Of course!

Don Londres Reposado Tequila Review

Don Londres Reposado Tequila Review

Is this new tequila from Post Malone's manager better now, or better never? Don Londres Reposado! Don Londres Reposado. The Blanco's been out for maybe a year or so. Reposado just coming out right now. $65, $70, something like that. Lovely bottle intended for sort of club environment, obviously frosted, tall, cool.   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jay Baer (@tequilajaybaer) Let's give this a shot here. Okay. Nice smell, right? It's, I like that a lot. Yeah. Good balance. Sweet, but not too sweet. Not overwhelmingly like artificial sweetness. A little perfume to it, but not over the top. It's nice. Mm. Oh, I like that. It's tasty. It's a little sweet, but not, not too sweet.Kind of like the smell. No, not maple syrupy at all. It has some tequila... not to me, super complicated. Executes what it's trying to do really well. I would probably want a little more black pepper in my reposado, but I can definitely get behind this. And I got to tell you, for people who don't drink a lot of tequila, I think this is a really good reposado to start with. I really like this one. I like when there's not a lot of pepper in it. So I'm going to go 9. Whoa! Whoa! I know! And a reposado 9. Okay. Usually you're like extra añejo. I know. 8 for me. I also like it. Good choice. Don Londres Reposado.Look for it coming out now.

Tequila of the Month: Kokoro

Tequila of the Month: Kokoro

KOKORO Spirits Plata. We love this KOKORO Plata, Silver Blanco. What a cool gift, right? I mean this has got to be like one of the coolest bottles out there and I love gifting this tequila because it looks so amazing on your bar and then also contains really great juice. Additive free, exceptionally well-made.   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jay Baer (@tequilajaybaer) We've got a super great deal on this tequila as well. It's just so crisp. It smells really nice. Yeah. It's just like clean and pure. This kind of smells like, like rainwater almost, you know, with a little bit of a character. Yeah. Mmm That's got a lot of sweetness to it. Yeah, it does. It finishes really, really nice too. It's interesting combo because it's, it definitely has that agave forward tequila flavor, but still very easy to drink. Not a lot of burn. A lot of people will love this. Yes. It doesn't have a lot of pepper. I really like it. It's a great Blanco. Yeah. Really nice. And it looks really cool. If you haven't tried the KOKORO, give it a shot.Again, we've got a special offer right now. KOKORO Plata.

General Gorostieta Blanco Review

General Gorostieta Blanco Review

This tequila is tall and slender, like one of us. Oh my god. General Gorostieta Blanco. General Gorostieta Blanco, relatively new brand from 1414. Enrique Grostieta, who was a freedom fighter after the Mexican Revolution. Actually, the top of the bottle here has the Mexican eagle, which is part of the national flag.   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jay Baer (@tequilajaybaer) Oh, cool. Back in those days, early 1900s, if I have my facts, right? This is also one of the tequilas made at this distillery. They use the Mozart method where they play classical music during fermentation because the yeast is like... wow! That's so interesting. The tequilas from this distillery always have that lovely sweet nose. It's the yeast for sure in the agave.Tasty. Black pepper for days, a little bit of olive brine, a lot of concentrated agave flavor. This is up my alley. I'm guessing you like it, but don't love it. Yeah, honestly, I mean, I taste a little bit of pepper, but not overwhelming for me. I think it's pretty easy drinking. Not a huge long finish. I wouldn't say it's massively complex.No. There's not tons of layers of flavor, but the layers are there are really well executed. Additive-free, I think $65 or something for the Blanco. I dig it. It comes in a really nice box too. Good presentation. All right. I'm going to say 8. And I'm going to go 7.I like it. Yeah. I like it for a Blanco. General Gorostieta Blanco. 8 7.
