Tequila of the Month - Alma del Jaguar

Here's a tequila that needs to be in your collection. It's Alma del Jaguar. A part of the proceeds of this tequila go towards supporting the Wild Jaguars south of Tucson, where I went to school in Sonoran.Bottles, labels, corks, everything is recycled, which is awesome too. It's a really nice tequila too. They have a very unusual process, a mixture of batches, even different kinds of yeasts in each of these. So there's really no other tequila that tastes just like this out there. Yeah, the Blanco is super complex but also still really easy to drink. There's a lot of like citrus and white pepper notes in it.This Reposado is a mixture of American and French oak. It's very easy sipping on lots of delicious kind of butterscotch-y vibes in here a lot. Yep. And this is our tequila of the month for February. It sure is. Pricing is super reasonable as well. And of course it's additive-free.Alma del Jaguar.

Do You Sip or Mix Your Tequila?

I've always wondered about this, and now we know. New data just came out from Drizly that says that 3/4 of Americans only drank tequila in cocktails. Makes sense to me because before I started videos, I only drank tequila in cocktails. But look at you now. You're drinking tequila at room temperature all the time. So, I prefer sipping tequila. You? I still prefer probably tequila in a cocktail, but I'll do both. This is the new, Corrido High-Proof Blanco that I'm sipping on right now. What do you have? I've got a margarita in my cool agave mug. So we get the agave shot glasses. And agave mug. Both of these are for sale in our online store. We only have a limited quantity available, so grab them while they're hot. Free shipping as well. But we want to know about you. What do you prefer? Do you prefer your tequila in a cocktail or sipping it neat? Let us know in the comments.

New Organic, Additive Free Blanco - It's Authentico Tequila!

Here's a new brand of tequila you should know. Authentico. Jay and I helped work on this brand and we're really happy with the result. Additive-free tequila made by fourth-generation Tequileros, who have always made tequila for the European and Mexican markets. Also co-owned by the distillery, so it's a Mexican-owned brand as well. It's also USDA organic, and their distillery is powered by solar and natural gas.Affordable as well. This Blanco is $37. Give it a try here. All right. It's good. It's so easy drinking, right? And so many additive-free tequilas, especially the more expensive ones are so agave and then you get black pepper and all these secondary flavors. It can actually be a little bit of a conflict in cocktails. This was really engineered to be an amazing cocktail mixer. Yeah. Which is what I prefer because I don't love all the black pepper. This is like my new house pour for Margaritas, for Palomas, for Ranch Waters. I think I'd give it like 8, 8 1/2.It's very delicious. Yeah. 8 1/2 for me as well. Especially at that price point. If you want to grab one of these, go to my bio.

How Long Does Tequila Keep?

When does a bottle of tequila go bad? We get this question a lot. And the truth is, your tequila is never likely to spoil, right? It's not like ground beef, right? Yeah. You're not going to like get sick. If it's already open like this. G4, high-proof, 108 high-proof Blanco. Here are three things to keep in mind.First, don't let it get in direct sunlight, it's like a gremlin. Second, don't let the temperature fluctuate too much. Third, if it is open as this one is, it's not a bad idea if you're going to have it for a while to add some parafilm, which can get on Amazon and just seal the top. So you just take this little bit and it's super stretchy and you kind of do like that top like that.Great. But still over time, if it gets a little too much light or oxygen, it's not going to go bad. Just going to lose its vivaciousness. It will slowly fade away like the career of Katy Perry.

Valentine's Day Tequila and Chocolate Pairings

Here's the guide you need to match tequila with your Valentine's candy. The Valentine's Day boxes have a bunch of different kinds of chocolate, and which tequila goes with which chocolate. So if it's a milk chocolate, and it doesn't have any kind of caramel or maple or whatever, go with a Reposado. G4 Repo is what we chose. If it's milk chocolate, and it does include like a caramel or a maple, something like that, then an Añejo is the best choice. This Insolito is the one that we chose for that. And then if it's got maple or coconutty characteristics, and it's dark chocolate, an Extra Añejo would be perfect. Tepozan on would be a nice batch for that one.And then if it has coffee of any sort in it, we would definitely recommend this one. The Quintaliza, which is actually aged in coffee barrels. We wish you could just have one tequila with your box of chocolates, but you can't. You have to have all the tequilas with your box of chocolates.Happy Valentine's Day!

Batch Margaritas

Best recipe for Super Bowl margaritas for a big group? This is the one. Sometimes you got to make a bunch of margaritas. This is my favorite recipe. I've been making this one for like 20 years. First, you take a big pitcher, put some ice in it, add one can of authentic Limeade frozen concentrate. And then we're going to do one cup of tequila. Today we're going to use the TC Craft Blanco. So smooth, delicious, and really affordable, which I appreciate. Then you go a quarter cup of some kind of Triples Sec. We use the Valencia from Cardinal Spirits right here in Bloomington, Indiana. Juice of one lemon. You can also add the slices if you'd like, but Jay accidentally threw them away. Half a cup of water, just regular water will do. And then, stir to combine. Give this a try here... All right....Maddie. Thank you. All right. Cheers. I love Margarita. And dangerously good, too.

Bottle Flight for Your Tequila

I think this is the greatest invention for tequila lovers maybe ever! Everyone needs this, and it's a great gift. You're going on a trip, you're going on vacation, you want to bring some of your favorite tequilas to share with some friends. Or maybe to share with yourself. So TSA, of course, has a 3-ounce limit. The Bottle Flight would solve that problem: four containers, each are exactly 3 ounces. You can fill them up, and then you've got this nifty little reusable marker, so you can put on there what you have in each of these. I already have Tears of Llorona in this one. So let's first do the Siete Leguas. Okay. Kind of like minerality. Yeah. Your friends will never go thirsty. And then next, we have the G4. G4 añejo. G4, very light oak. Got the Cierto, kind of a fruity flavor. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. So this thing is $38 for the Bottle Flight. Worth every penny. And you can find a link in the comments or in my bio. I have already bought a ton of these for my friends. These are great!

Does Tequila Taste Different in Mexico?

Does tequila taste different in Mexico? So in the USA, tequila has to be at least 40% ABV. It's the law. But in Mexico, because of the way it's taxed, many brands produce tequila that's 35% to 38% ABV. We're going to see if it makes a difference with Entremanos. So let's first try the 40%, which is the American tequila. Let's do it. Okay. Tasty. Tasty. And then this is the 38%. So this is their Mexican tequila. Okay. We'll see if we notice a difference. This is additive-free.Whoa. That is way different. Isn't it way different? Yeah. That's crazy. And it's literally just... Just 2%. 2%. Because this is 38% and this is 40%. Yeah. Try this yourselves at home.
