Fortaleza Rareties

Let's try some special Fortaleza bottles. Woo. This one is the Mission 1530 Project Reposado. This is aged for 11 months in 500 liters, so very large French Cognac Casks, about 47% ABV on this one.   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jay Baer (@tequilajaybaer) All of the proceeds from this one go to the Tequila Interchange Project, which is a great cause. Absolutely! This is the very special "Amor Y Perros" Reposado at about 41% ABV. Quarter of this was aged for a year and a half in Sherry casks. You can see how much darker it is than this one. Yeah. Yeah. And all of the proceeds from this one go to Dog Rescue in the Tequila Region. Okay.1530. Okay. Cheers. Ooh. It's crazy. That's tasty. It's like drinking angel tears. I mean, it's just so balanced. It's just wild. Yeah. I haven't been drinking, like sipping tequila straight for a while. And this is a great one to come back to. Delicious.Amor Y Perros.Ooh, that's smooth.Isn't it nice. Sherry barrels is that what you said? Sherry barrels. Yeah. They're very different. If you had to pick one, what would you go with?I actually think I would go with this one.The Amor Y Perros yeah. This one. Just a little bit more flavor overall, but this is so harmonious. Easy to drink. They're both incredible. They're both delicious. I think. I would say the same maybe. I think this one's, because of the Sherry,I think just a little bit more memorable. Yeah. I agree. Right. So yeah. But I mean of crates of course. Great choices. See you next time.

3 Tips for Buying Tequila Online

You're looking to buy tequila online, you might have some questions. I went to the source for the answers just as Roman, we're at Old Town Tequila in San Diego, one of the largest e-commerce tequila companies in the world.   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jay Baer (@tequilajaybaer) There's so many like unique bottles, shapes, all these different things. Sometimes it's really hard to ship it in standard packaging like they make for wine.If you've ever ordered from us before we pack very efficiently. Yeah. And you know, it's kind of like almost sometimes we actually do get complaints, but we overkill on like bubble wrap. What am I going to do this bubble wrap? We always figure it's better to be safe. It's similar to furniture in the sense of like, it has to be packed, it has to be wrapped. It's heavy. It requires adult signature. Make it hard to offer free shipping. How much bubble wrap do you go through in a given month? I think you've seen some of our upstairs storage before. It's like a...It's like a UPS store exploded. One of the questions that I get from followers of the channel a lot is, Hey, how come I can't get tequila from Old Town, one of the other e-commerce providers in my State? Talk about that a little bit. It's your State. I was going to say, we would love to ship to all 50 States. Trust me. It's always those States. It's not us, it's your State. If you're in California, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, you know all these West Coast States, let's say West of the Rockies. Yep. It's all flat-rate. So it's like you could fill up your box. It's all for one flat-rate fee. Oh, interesting. And specifically even like California, Arizona, Nevada. We're talking about $14.50 or $15 around that. For as many bottles as you want. For as many bottles as you want. So, and that's all... There's a quick tip right there. And it's all next day too.Okay. I might have to move back to Arizona now that I have this information, Roman. And Saturday delivery. And Saturday delivery. Yeah, sold. And then the one last thing I will say about ordering online, make sure you send it to somewhere where someone is 21 and over to sign for it. They'll try three times. And then it comes back to you. And then it comes back. And then what have, then you drink it.Is that how that works? And then that's our fault. Then that goes to Roman. Yeah. I love it.

Bourbon Fans Will Love this New Reposado - Rodeo de las Aguas

New brand: Rodeo de las Aguas . -It's additive-free, made at NOM 1517. Today, we're going to try the Reposado. $70, aged for 7-10 months in American Oak. 25% of the barrels are new. 75% are bourbon barrels. - Also has an interactive experience. So if you take your phone and you tap it to the wings on the front of the bottle, you can unlock points for like prizes and merch.- Smells delicious. You can tell that it's more bourbon oak than new oak. It definitely has a bourbon character to it, but it's not punchy in the face oak sandwich.- It's tasty! Bourbon flavor.- For sure! Now, it's really nice. Prefer both that's a little less bourbon-y, but I can see folks who are bourbon heads who are coming to the tequila category, they are going to go crazy for this reposado.- I absolutely agree. 8, it's really good. A little too bourbon-y for me.- Yep, it's an 8 for me, but I think it would easily be a 9 or a 9+ for a lot of people.- Yeah.

Quick Way to Find a Tequila You'll Like

How do you pick out a tequila when there are so many options? Hundreds of brands here at Old Town Tequila in San Diego. But one of the secrets is to look for the NOM number. Every single tequila has an NOM number on the back. This one is 1414 from the distillery of Vivanco. What that means is that's the distillery that has taken production control of this tequila. It's typically where the tequila is actually distilled or bottled. If you like this brand, and I certainly like Alma del Jaguar, you might then look for other tequilas that have the same NOM number that also have a 1414. For example, this Espacial, which is also 1414, so it's made by the same people at the same place. If you like this one, you'll probably like that one. Now, are they made differently? Of course! The tequilas aren't exactly the same, but there is a house style for every distillery, meaning that both these brands probably have similar flavor profiles. If you like this one, you'll probably like that one.

We're going to make one ranch water with a blanco, one with their reposado.Yeah.And then one with their añejo tequila. Tasty! That's your classic, classic guy right there. Okay. Yep, good. Oh, you can taste a difference.Oh yeah!Yeah! It's definitely rounder.Yeah, I actually like that.I do, too. Interesting. Most people always use blanco, so hey, next time you're making a ranch water, especially when it warms up, give it a try with the Reposado and give the El Bandido Yankee a try too.

Additive Free v. Organic Tequila - What's the Difference?

You know the difference. You should. Now, almost every bottle of tequila is going to say on it right here, 100% agave or something along those lines. Now, all that means is that 100% of the sugars used to make this tequila are from agave, that's all it means. Organic. A USDA, US Department of Agriculture organic seal. Now, organic is an agricultural designation which dictates how the agaves themselves are planted, how they're taken care of, how they're fertilized, et cetera. Additive-free, sometimes denoted by this sticker. This means that there's no additional additives in the tequila, like caramel coloring, artificial sweeteners, glycerin, or oak extract. You sometimes might see the sticker on bottles but the stickers not being used as much anymore. So to find a list of additive-free tequilas, go to the Tequila Matchmaker app. 100% agave, organic, and additive-free are not the same things. Three different designations.
