Tanteo Easy Spicy Margarita

Tanteo Easy Spicy Margarita

Which is the best way to make a spicy Margarita fast? We're going to take the Tanteo additive-free, regular Blanco, and the Jalapeño Blanco. This is a spicy mix. This is a regular mix.   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jay Baer (@tequilajaybaer) Hmm. That's tasty. It is nice. This is also a spicy grapefruit margarita mix. Yes. So we added a little grapefruit to this other one too to keep it fair. That's a good flavor. Mm-hmm. Really good. I like it better than a normal margarita, honestly. Because the grapefruit and the... Yeah! It's not too sweet, either. I would drink this all day long. And how long does this take to make? Like two minutes, not even.Jalapeño infuse with regular mix and a little dash of grapefruit mixer in there too. Yeah. Oooh. Because it's probably not as spicy as that one. It's actually, yeah, it's really not. But it's more vegetal. It's more like legit jalapeño.It tastes like, yeah, more like regular jalapeños. The mix is actually spicier than the tequila.Yeah. I think I actually like this one better. Gosh, I don't think you can really go wrong on this answer. Yeah, they're both delicious. I would finish both of them. Yeah. Well, you get to pick one to finish in a second. I'm going to pick one to finish. I agree. I think maybe this one. Yeah.

Extra and Double Reposado Tequilas

Extra and Double Reposado Tequilas

Hey, it's tequila teacher Jay Baer, and have you seen or tasted this new tequila trend, extra or double reposado tequilas? Now, reposados are typically aged between 2 months and 12 months in oak, but there's a lot of difference in flavor between 2 months and 12 months.   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jay Baer (@tequilajaybaer)   So what some brands are doing is they're leaving reposados in the barrel longer, or even putting them in barrels two different times, and they call the finished tequila something like, "Extra Reposado" or "Double Reposado" or "Reposado Deep". El Cristiano Reposado XR is aged 11 months, it's pretty solid. I really, really like this brand new Nueveuno Reposado Deep, which is also aged I think 11 months or so. Adictivo also has a new double Reposado that's a little sweet for my tastes. But whatever it's called, what they're trying to indicate to you, the tequila buyer, is that this isn't a regular reposado, but has more aging and therefore can and should be more expensive. The reality is that there's only five official tequila categories. Blanco, Joven, Reposado, Añejo, extra añejo, and brands are trying to play the gaps between these with things like extra double or deep reposados. As always, pay attention to labels when you buy tequila and if you see one of these new extra reposado maybe give it a try.Let me know what you think.

DIY Joven Tequila

DIY Joven Tequila

Ready to experiment? We're going to try to make our own... Joven! Okay, so Joven is any Blanco tequila with aged tequila added to it.Okay!   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jay Baer (@tequilajaybaer) And you see more and more brands making a Joven for a couple reasons. One, you can charge a little bit more. And two, because of the older tequila in it, it makes it a little smoother, sweeter, easier to drink, et cetera. So we're like...Why don't we make our own? We've got the Siete Leguas Blanco and the Siete Leguas Añejo. Start with the just straight Blanco. Okay.Straight Blanco to see... The reference. Reference taste. I made a little weird face there. Yeah, you did! It's so good. It's so good! All right, give me one of those. Okay. Let's see.So this is a little bit. Right? You saw her do it. Blanco with a little Añejo. Give it a little swirly swirl. Cheers! Okay. Cheers. You can taste a difference. For sure! Yeah. It's still very blanco forward because of obviously the ratio. Yeah. But it does add a little more roundness to it.Yeah. Sweetness for sure. It's interesting. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Uh-huh!Like if you're going to do, I don't know, Paloma or Margarita, like maybe a few drops of this. Let's try with more. Is that like a 50-50, something like that almost? Probably. 40-60? Yeah. Yeah. Give it a little swirly. I'm excited about this. I'm kind of nerding out on this. It actually smells different even. It does smell different. It's actually pretty good. This is like a much less expensive way to make your...Yes! Uh-huh! Make it taste more expensive. I like this plan. Which one do you like the best of the three? Maybe the middle one.Me too!Really? Yes. Yeah.I think this one is a little confused. Yeah. It's not quite smooth. Yeah. And we didn't mix... It's good!We didn't mix it, mix it, we didn't like blend it or whatever, but this almost feels like two tequilas in a glass, which it is. The one I think is the best is just a few drops.Yeah. No, I agree completely. Yeah! New trend! Lets go! New trend! Siete Leguas is always a good choice.

Our friends at Q Mixers just won an award, Best Cocktail Mixer, period! Wow. Period! In the LA Spirits Awards. So we got to try it.All right!   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jay Baer (@tequilajaybaer) So we're going to use the Amatiteña Blanco. Okay! Back this way. Okay. All right. Let's do a little squeeze of lemon. Yep! Great. Pop that in there and then garnish with a jalapeno. Are you ready? I guess! Are you scared? Kind of. Me too. Okay.I got to say... It's pretty good.It is. It's got so much more black pepper in it than I thought...Yeah, it does.from the can thing. Uh-huh!Wow! That's got a lot of depth of flavor too. And it's not like, I've had Bloody Mary's, they're just like gross straight tomato juice or clamato. No, thank you! But this is, I could get into this a little bit.Yeah! It's pretty tasty. And with the tequila too, it's... You're going back in? Better than with vodka, I think.I agree with that. The tequila adds something to it for sure. Uh-huh! Non-Alcoholic Tequilas

Non-Alcoholic Tequilas

Big new trend these days. The non-alcoholic tequilas or tequila alternatives, and we've had to make them with a margarita, right? Yeah. Best, best drink ever.We made these with our favorite mixture, the Q margarita mix. All three of these available on Amazon.   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jay Baer (@tequilajaybaer) That's actually not bad. It's not bad at all. It's got a little bit of a... an aftertaste that is just unusual. Doesn't, I wouldn't really say it's tequila, but it doesn't bother me at all. Yeah. I think it's pretty good. Sort of residual sweetness and sort of like what you would have in a barrel. Free Spirits.Sweeter. Yeah. Whoa, way sweeter. That one's a little funkier. It's almost got a... like, kind of like a coconut. It's almost, if you didn't tell me that this was a tequila alternative, I would say this was like a rum alternative. I would maybe do, since this one is a little bit sweeter, maybe this with like club soda and a lime, as like a ranch water or something. But, still good. Yeah. Spiritless Jalisco 55. Okay.Oh. Hmm. That's different. It's not super tequila-y. No. That one is even more coconuty than than the second one. Yeah. That's got a very interesting combination of flavors that I don't love. This one too it just doesn't taste quite... enough like tequila. Yeah. Uhhuh. This one? Our favorite is this one.Yeah. Yeah. The Ritual, zero proof would be the one we would pick, and also this is the least expensive one. Uhhuh. Yep. $30.
