This is our Tequila of the Month for April. - El Bandido Yankee.- This brand is kind of a magic trick. They kind of do all the things right. Additive-free, made at NOM 1107, one of the oldest distilleries in Mexico.-Yep. Also an amazing female master distiller and very fair pricing on all three of these expressions.- Super affordable. They oxygenate their tequilas a lot, which really rounds it off, takes out a lot of the bite. So for people that don't like really, really strong agave flavors, a lot of pepper, this is an excellent brand to choose from. She asked them some questions about it. - I'm with Mark, Jess and Cam, and we're just going to ask them a couple questions about their tequila brand, Insolito.- Yeah! We're... We're three of the co-founders and we created this tequila from the ground up. We started working on it in 2017. It was three years of hard work. You know, for us, it was really important loving tequila. I also grew up at a bar on the Mexican border. Jess, Cam and I, not only did we want a delicious, great drinking tequila, but it was really important for us to have an authentic tequila.- How important was that additive free taste to you guys?- Some of the top tequilas, not traditionally made, not certified additive free tequilas are actually really suffering and have gone down in sales. Agave is a really special plant and if it's distilled correctly, it's a very special spirit. It should be... It should have high integrity.

Does this make you mad or happy? I mean, we're talking about innovation in tequila today. Yeah. And the tequila business is very competitive.Yeah. There's so many brands, and so they're trying to like stand out somehow, right, to do something different. So you've got a lot of different variations happening now.Yep. You've got tequila that's aged in wine barrels like this, Montegave, and the Inspiro. This new one Dos Angeles, just came out. You've got tequila's aged in coffee barrels, like our friends at Quintaliza. You've got some tequila that has some extra smoke in it. Like this, Patrón Ahumado. You've got tequila that's got infused agave in it, like Curado.And then also tequila that has infused fruit in it, like this Espanita Grapefruit. So that's a lot of things. And I guess the question like is this like a good trend, right? I mean, or are we going to end up like vodka, where we have birthday cake flavored tequila? Like I can see it, but I... Tequila on airplanes sucks. Let's rank airlines based on tequila availability. The worst is American- no tequila at all. In 6th, Spirit Airlines, they've got Margaritaville Tequila, which is yikes. And Buzzbox Margaritas, not great either. 5th, United; they've got Corazon Blanco Tequila. No pre-made cocktails. 4th place, Alaska Airlines. No tequila. But they do have the straightaway pre-made margaritas, which are pretty solid. 3rd place, JetBlue; they've got Corazon, but they also have the Stirrings margarita mix. 2nd place, Southwest; they have Cazadores Tequila, and they also have the On the Rocks margaritas, which are actually okay.Best airline for me is Delta. They have Lunazul Blanco and the 'Tip Top' canned margaritas. I'd say Southwest Delta, pretty much neck and neck, but for me, Delta wins. But what do you think?
